Routine Exams

PAP SMEARS

This screening test can identify pre-malignant or cancerous cells in the outer opening of the cervix, which aids in the prevention or early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

BREAST CHECKS

Examination by a doctor is recommended every three years for women in their 20s and 30s, and every year for women age 40 and older.

MAMMOGRAMS

Annual exams are recommended beginning at age 40.

STD PREVENTION, SCREENING & TREATMENT

ADOLESCENT CARE & EDUCATION

Beginning at age 13, adolescent girls should begin the transition from pediatrician to gynecologist for health maintenance and education. Several of the physicians at GMCWH have a special interest in working with young teens, and our compassionate care helps make this transition comfortable for the patient.

NUTRITION & WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

We provide complete nutritional education, promoting choices to maximize health, as well as maintain a healthy weight.

BIOPSIES

When cells or tissues need to be examined by a pathologist, our physicians will take a biopsy in our offices, send in the sample and discuss your results with you.

SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION

The physicians at GMCWH can help identify the cause and guide you through the many treatment options available.

Minimally Invasive Surgical Procedures

DA VINCI ROBOTIC HYSTERECTOMY

GMCWH is a leader in this precise, minimally invasive surgery, done with a few small incisions using the most advanced robotics. Compared to traditional open surgery, da Vinci hysterectomy means significantly less pain and bleeding, shorter hospital stays and a quicker recovery.

ENDOMETRIAL Ablation

This minimally invasive procedure for women with abnormal uterine bleeding is preformed in our office with an anesthetic. Excellent results include cessation of bleeding altogether, or significantly reduced bleeding.

Injections & Immunizations

Injections allow for the simple, convenient delivery of medications for the treatment of some conditions and prevention of others. Among the injections offered at GMCWH:

GARDASIL - HPV Vaccine for Females 9-25

GARDASIL^® is the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that helps protect against four types of HPV. In girls and young women ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL^® helps protect against two types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and two more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. GARDASIL^® also helps protect girls and young women against 70% of vaginal cancer cases and up to 50% of vulvar cancer cases.

RhoGAM^®

RhoGAM^® contains antibodies to the Rh factor derived from human plasma that has been carefully screened and processed for purity. When injected, the RhoGAM^® Brand antibodies circulate in the Rh-negative mother's bloodstream and prevent her immune system from making the sensitized antibodies that would threaten a baby with Rh-positive blood. Only a small percentage of the population is Rh-negative and therefore at risk. This includes 15% of Caucasians, 8% of African Americans and Hispanics, and 1% of Asians and Native Americans.

Depo-Provera

This birth control injection utilizes a hormone to prevent pregnancy. Each shot is effective for three months.

Lupron

Lupron is a synthetic hormone that is used to reduce the amount of testosterone in men and estrogen in women. It is used in women to treat symptoms of endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
