Pre-Natal Care
Pregnancy is an exciting time in any woman's life, but it can be a time of complex emotions. Advanced, compassionate pre-natal care can make the process much more comfortable and reassuring.
PRE-NATAL COUNSELING
The more you know, the more relaxed you'll be, especially for your first delivery. Your initial visit will be a one-hour session with our experienced RNs and staff. There is always a triage nurse available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., to answer your calls, plus a physician on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can rest assured you will get your questions answered and/or be seen the same day.
ULTRASOUNDS (2D, 3D & 4D)
Ultrasound (also called sonography) is a procedure that uses sound waves to create images that are useful to evaluate the fetus, placenta and amniotic fluid. GMCWH requires expectant mothers to have two ultrasounds, one at the initial visit and the second at 20 weeks. Exceptionally sophisticated 3-D and 4-D ultrasounds are available at the patient's request during 28-32 weeks gestation.
MULTIPLE GESTATION
We deliver twins, triplets, and more!
GESTATIONAL DIABETES TESTING
This common condition requires careful monitoring, and GMCWH's staff has the experience and expertise to diagnose and treat gestational diabetes.
HYPERTENSION TREATMENT
Careful monitoring and treatment of high blood pressure is very important during pregnancy, and can help prevent preeclampsia. We monitor blood pressure at every visit to prevent and treat these issues quickly and effectively.
High-Risk Pregnancies/Maternal Fetal Medicine
Expectant mothers whose pregnancies may be at risk for complications take comfort knowing we have a board-certified Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist on staff to provide seamless care. Click here to go to our Maternal Fetal Medicine page.
Postpartum Care
We believe care after delivery is just as important as treatment leading up to the birth. Common issues following childbirth include depression, breastfeeding concerns and healing from vaginal or Caesarean birth. GMCWH is here to care for you, just as your pediatrician is there to take care of your baby.
